Billdial Inc. ("Billdial", "we") runs billdial.org and the Billdial app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We wrote it to be read.
What we collect
- Account details: name, email, a bcrypt hash of your password, or your Google account identifier if you sign in with Google.
- Bill audits: the structured audit of each bill you add (provider, period, line items, verdicts, findings, scripts) with the account number masked to its last four digits. The bill file itself is not stored.
- Outcomes and settings: what you mark as done, amounts you report saving, alert preferences, homes, and the emails you choose to share with.
- Form messages you send us through contact, help, careers, and waitlist forms.
- Basic technical logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps) for security and rate limiting, kept for up to 30 days.
How we use it
- To audit your bills, show tracking, and send the alerts and emails you asked for.
- To run billing through Stripe if you choose a paid plan. We never see your card number.
- To answer you and keep the service secure.
We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for advertising, and we never use your bills to train AI models.
Model providers
To read a bill we send its content to a vision and language model provider. For PDFs, long digit runs are masked before sending. We use provider settings that turn off storage for training. Providers process the content only to return the audit.
The homepage demo
Files you upload to the demo are processed in memory and discarded after the response. They are not stored, logged, or linked to you.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is open. You can export everything or delete any bill, all bills, or your whole account from Settings at any time. Deletes are real deletes; backups roll off within 30 days.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including California and other US states, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to opt out of sale or sharing (we do neither). Use Settings or write to privacy@billdial.org. We respond within 30 days.
Security
Audits are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM under per-user keys, traffic is HTTPS only, and access is limited to what operating the service requires.
Children
Billdial is for adults managing household bills and is not directed to children under 16.
